About the Dutch Embassy in Maputo

The Dutch Embassy in Maputo is the official diplomatic representation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mozambique.

It maintains relations with the Mozambican authorities and supports cooperation between the two countries on diplomatic, economic and international matters.

The embassy also provides a point of contact for Dutch nationals living in or visiting Mozambique.

Diplomatic and consular responsibilities

As a diplomatic mission, the embassy represents Dutch interests and supports contacts between institutions and organisations in the Netherlands and Mozambique.

Its consular services include applications for Dutch travel documents, certain nationality procedures, document legalisations and consular statements.

Consular services outside Maputo

For Dutch nationals living elsewhere in Mozambique, an important practical feature is the option to collect completed travel documents at the Dutch consulates in Beira or Nampula.

This collection arrangement must be requested when submitting the application. It does not mean that every consular service is available at those locations.
