About the Mission
About the Dutch Consulate General in Hong Kong and Macao
The Consulate-General of the Netherlands in Hong Kong and Macao is an official Dutch diplomatic and consular representation based in Hong Kong.
The mission represents Dutch interests in the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions. It is part of the Netherlands‘ wider diplomatic network in China, which also includes the embassy in Beijing and consulates general in Guangzhou and Shanghai.
Hong Kong has longstanding international connections in trade, finance, logistics and professional services. The consulate general helps maintain relationships between Dutch businesses, institutions, organisations and their counterparts in the region.
The mission also supports diplomatic, cultural and economic cooperation involving Macao. Although Macao falls within the consulate general’s responsibilities, the official Dutch mission is located in Hong Kong rather than at a separate consulate general in Macao.
Alongside its representative functions, the consulate general provides a broad range of Dutch government services. These include passport and identity card applications, visa procedures, nationality matters and selected certificates and legalisation services.
